Over a six week period in November and December 2019, we were asked to introduce a new and novel “assistive technology” into the day to day running of our busy, 58 place residential care home. 

Occupational therapy assists people to overcome barriers that might be limiting them from doing some or all of the activities they need or want to do for their independence or wellbeing.

Healthcare technology firm Komodo Healthcare has launched a four-in-one electronic hygiene chair to increase the dignity and independence of those with reduced mobility. The Komodo Chair combines a stand-alone toilet/commode, a stand and assist raiser, a shower chair and electronic variable height.
